From AI Readiness to ROI: A Practical 90-Day Roadmap
A focused 90-day program can turn AI from a collection of ideas into one working capability with measurable business value.
Organizations often begin AI adoption by collecting tools or brainstorming use cases. That activity can create energy, but it rarely creates durable value. A better starting point is a short operating cycle that connects one business problem to one usable system and one measurable outcome.
Days 1–30: diagnose and prioritize
Map high-friction workflows, customer gaps, decision bottlenecks, and available data. Score opportunities by value, feasibility, risk, adoption effort, and time to evidence. Select one use case with a meaningful outcome and a team willing to own it.
Days 31–60: build the smallest useful system
Design the workflow before selecting the final technology. Define inputs, outputs, approvals, exceptions, quality controls, and the role of human judgment. Build only enough capability to operate in a real setting and learn from actual use.
Days 61–90: operate, measure, and decide
Introduce the system to a controlled user group, measure adoption and performance, and document failure modes. Compare the result to the original baseline: time, cost, quality, conversion, revenue, service, or risk.
Make the next investment evidence-based
At the end of 90 days, leaders should have more than a demo. They should have evidence that supports one of three decisions: scale the capability, revise the operating model, or stop and redirect resources.
